April 27 (Reuters) - Australia's Syrah Resources Ltd (SYR) said on Thursday it expects $539 million in total installed capital cost to expand a Louisiana-based facility that produces graphite-based active anode material, a key component for lithium-ion batteries.
The development follows the completion of a definitive feasibility study of Vidalia Further Expansion project, which confirmed that the expansion was technically viable and is expected to generate significant value for Syrah's shareholders, the company said.
