There is violence in all societies but when settlers arrived in Australian Aboriginal worked out very quickly they were much better off with whites rather than staying with their partners and tribe and this caused many disputes,the culture of taking a younger girl when their wives stopped breading and they were left for the young men to use and abuse.
People are keen to point out the short comings and issues in white society while attempting to turn a blind eye to some of the brutal the cultural practices of Aboriginal society today as well as the past.
Domestic violence is much more prevalent in Aboriginal communities ,when we had to attended to learn about local culture the main speaker who was more white than Aboriginal, was married to a white woman and was notorious for domestic violence that only stopped when one of his boys belted him,almost every sentence in his lecture started with the white bastards.
