Communism isn't what we need to look out for. The enemy is totalitarianism and the maniacs in charge. Some of the bad-guys are communists, while all of the totalitarian states have the potential to do us harm. There's a few in the middle east, and even in the east of Europe
Vietnam is a relatively stable jurisdiction, and a potential friend and market for Australian produce, and hasn't projected any aggression or ill-intent towards us since 1973. They get annoyed with us sometimes, but mostly we probably deserve it.
