The Iranian drones are pre-programmed with a GPS target location. Once launched there's no need for communication between a controller and the drone, so there's no link for DroneShield's defeat technology to disrupt. Similarly there isn't a continuous radio signal for the detect technology to track, so Droneshield's tech has to fall back to visual and sonic tracking. But without an integrated hard-kill option there doesn't seem to be much point investing in the detect technology unless you want to watch the drone go by.
DroneShield's tech makes much more sense to detect and defeat enemy surveillance drones where there's a continuous control link and video back-channel, although it would also knock out any of your own surveillance drones if you had any deployed.
