Good news for H2 developers and good to see Gladstone mentioned. All evidence points to Andrew Forrest still lobbying hard, with his new point man Guy Debelle (mentioned there) no doubt still having considerable policy sway amongst the Canberra pointyheads, as a former RBA deputy governor himself. I’d like to think PRL’s Roger Martin has been highly active too, but PRL has yet to say anything much new or specific about Federal H2 policy compared to WA efforts, and so much (once considered “first mover”) momentum has been lost subsequent to the protracted then failed Total JV negotiations. Time to get visible and get cracking.
