I have found from past experience that if you want to sell shares ex div or cum div, best thing is to ring the broker by phone and specify what exactly you want. I would not trust the online trading platform to do it right. I am sure they have an alogorithm there somewhere, or it is there somewhere in the fine print, but the easiest is the oldfashioned way IMO.
I use the online for almost everything else BTW.
I realise that it is too late for NAB but it is a good tip for other shares or next time around
