The 6 month extension is all we need for a smooth transition to Kal, but continued C&L at LAMP would bring clear benefits to LYC (increased capacity, and possibly be used for alternative feeds..).
The last chapter in the C&L LAMP saga may not yet be written, are more and more politicians are voicing support:
KUANTAN: A member of the State Legislative Assembly (Assembly) from PERIKATAN NASIONAL suggested that the Pahang State Government should discuss with the Federal Government again to consider withdrawing the conditions that have been set for Lynas.
Beserah assemblyman, Andansura Rabu said, the company has been operating for 12 years and has proven that there is no pollution of water, air and does not affect the health of the people.
"What was stated by the public before is not accurate, in fact the company in question has never violated the conditions that have been set in the license issued.
"And why are we punishing those who have invested as much as RM3 billion in their investment in our state," he said.
"If we block and stop their process, it means that we have lost the confidence of investors in our decisions," he added.
He stated this while debating the motion to uphold the royal decree of Pahang Regent Tengku Hassanal Ibrahim Alam Shah Al-Sultan Abdullah Ri'ayatuddin Al-Mustafa Billah Shah at the Pahang State Legislative Assembly (DUN) meeting here, recently.
According to him, Pahang has the potential to develop like Penang, Johor and Selangor because it has the same logistics as the port to attract investors.
He said, the famous states managed to increase investment because there was a conducive environment provided to convince the investors.
Therefore, he added that the Federal government which withdrew the processing license of the Lynas factory needs to be reviewed because it is feared that it will affect the investors in this state. – HARAKAHDAILY 13/5/2023
