And yet its the sweetener of choice in healthfoods, drinks, etc....
Did read years ago how in the US aspartame managed to obtain the regulatory permits to be included in food....and a week later the head of the Food & drug mob resigned & was working for them.

Update: March 2010 - Aspartame has been renamed and is now being marketed as a natural sweetener - called AminoSweet. Don't be fooled.. it is the same old toxic substance!
