Sorry, but history suggests its mostly retail locking in losses. Not all. But it usually overwhelmingly is. Market makers and Insto's would not continue to exist were they not historically making money at the expense of retail, be it on the sell side (brokerage) or on buy side (in the market trading).

Shorts have significantly reduced at a nice profit. Hats off to them. I considered shorting ASM at $10+, but would not with the stock falling from $5-2 when they mostly did (a lot of the 2nd half 2022 price fall). It was a risky trade at those levels. I don't begrudge them the win.

I am a value investor, hence I sold all out of ASM far too early on my first hold at $4 (thought it was silly there at the time, let alone $10). I sleep better at night, never quite getting the lows, but still somewhat soundly knowing I get in very cheap at least, if a little offside. ASM under $1.23 is cheap. I would remind everyone, that's its under its low on its first day of demerger trading on 30 July, where it made a low of $1.23, a high of $1.55 and closed at $1.40 per share (admittedly now diluted).

Never thought I'd be picking up ASM at these prices again. Its getting contracts people. I suspect more to follow in Korea, US, EU and maybe Japan as the company has given opaque signals towards.
