Several years ago actually. As a STO shareholder I applaud this as the buyback prices have reflected great value and improves EPS over time. However STO have reacted to shareholder concerns recently over low dividends by increasing dividends with an adjustment to the buyback program to compensate. They must have a bucketload of franking credits. They are generating fantastic free cash flows that will be used for a significant Capex program including Barossa, Pikka and Dorado plus other existing production sites including Gladstone gas. At $7 it's still undervalued but reflects market avoidance of fossil fuels. Same as WDS with CVN along for the ride unfortunately.
