Sorry I did not answer your question. I do not think shorts have no effect they do have some just like any buyer or sellers. But it is very small as Ishowed above. AS I said above, Use short Man you can move your curser along the line and find open short volume on any day. then compare what Lynas did over some period of time. then explain whay you think shorts have anything but a small.
I said above that shorts are expensive. First when you borrow stock you have to pay interest on the shares borrowed even if you have cash to cover you still pat interest. If stock goes up or down interest follows plus you have to have cash to cover difference when it goes up. I was burned in 2000 shorting Amazone for several months The stock started to fall. I covered all the expense and was finally making money. Was about Us$10/00 to the good and the person whose stock I had, received a margin call and needed their stock back. that was end of my gain in spite of Amazone falling to about $5.00.
Since then I only do puts if I want down side action. You are in control with puts not like shorts.
