yr talking about a 12yr veteran.. certainly not an ideal outcome but this was no rookie

don't disagree with yr sentiment tho policing is under pressure.. in SA two cops got stabbed by a bloke over a dog complaint .. in NSW a 95yr old gets tazered holding a steak knife.. in QLD cops get shot as they walked into a trap because NSW didn't bother to tell them the people were mentally unstable and violent, or they didn't bother to find out themselves..

meanwhile mountains of paperwork gets produced, inquires get held and millions upon millions of dollars are wasted on analysing what should never have happened in the first place.. meanwhile, absolutely anti social behaviour, totally dangerous driving and low to mid level crime continues to go unpunished on our streets and in our suburbs

I think people should really think twice about calling the cops.. because it seems cops are being called to 'social' disturbances when they should be focused on crimes that 'have' been committed and criminals that commit crime, rather than approaching people who are not yet 'criminals' but are obviously, mentally ill, unstable or just need attention.

Society needs to shoulder some of the responsibility for 'mediation' and 'resolution' of social and neighbourhood angst rather than always just palming it off to the cops.. then the cops can focus on the actual crims and anti socials

Cops shouldn't be tasked with 'preventing' crime and investigating petty complaints .. they should be dealing with crime 'actually committed' but I feel they are being used as some kind of resource by over reactionary people.

people's behaviour, intelligence, family, community and reasonable measures prevent crime..
