Aztecs were not isolated but liked warring with its many neighbours. They had sophisticated agricultural techniques that they employed to feed their capital Tenochtitlan which was build on a lake.
Their culture was about 10,000 years old and during this time they built cities - including sophisticated pyramids and became excellent farmers and warriors
