that’s a very strange comment. It seems that you have little understanding of dementia. There are some with dementia who become quite frightened or paranoid. They don’t need tasering or rough treatment.
there are techniques that could have been used to quieten her down. Increasing fear levels is not the right approach
sadly however aged care qualifications or aged care nursing training does not include a compulsory unit on dementia (unless it has changed in the last three years). So many careers have no idea what to do
I did a review of thousands of incidents and a majority were escalated by the staff handling them
poorly. It’s a tragedy waiting to happen and I’m amazed we haven’t seen more such incidents
