Totally agree that a critical eye on the investment is a good thing! It's a little different when for the past ~12 months or so almost every post is only speaking of the negative and in a pessimistic way. From what I can gather from the last 12 months of posting, SWILTD is balls-deep in MLX and has to resort to drinking cheap ALDI wine, and taking on 2 rounds with his wife as he's currently in the red, which in my opinion has created this love-hate relationship with MLX.
SWILTD also has had many points of frustration aired here in this forum with many sceptical (and rightly so) questions of management, and their capital management plan etc etc, and when presented with an opportunity to raise those questions directly with management at the AGM yesterday, there was crickets. When provided with the opportunity yesterday to ask questions you could have asked Brett directly how many hours a fortnight he works on MLX, why he was in HK, and this list of questions as raised above: Regarding the inflation linked AISC variances, exactly WHAT Inflation?Energy is down to sub $80/US.Services? Perhaps. So how about outlining where?COGS? Sure, but what?Wages?Maybe, but we are taking about Western Tasmania, where wage growth vs employment shows that any investment into jobs is well received by the locals, and wage demands are limited. To be honest, just outline the costs, and stop using it as an excuse.
My point is while a critical eye is a good thing, but if it's driving you to a point where you turn pessimistic and only recognising the bad, maybe it will help to next time raise your concerns at the AGM when provided with an opportunity.
