After reviewing a few posts on this forum, it appeared that there might have been a change in Patrick's or CBD's viewpoint regarding the Rhyolite Ridge project. To clarify CBD's current stance on the matter, I personally contacted Patrick, the source, and posed three important questions. However, Patrick only addressed one of them in his response, which I received 30 minutes later.

His response on Twitter, dated May 24, 2023, was as follows: "Just so there's no confusion, yes we will litigate the Rhyolite Ridge Mine if it moves forward as proposed. The current mine plan would drive Tiehm's buckwheat to extinction and is unacceptable. Nothing has changed. $INR @blmnv @USFWSPacific" - Patrick Donnelly (@bitterwaterblue).

I wasn't surprised by this response, as it aligns with the behavior of many environmentalists who tend to avoid certain questions and only address those that align with their agenda. While I had hoped for a response addressing all of the questions, this was not the case. In my opinion, the Rhyolite Ridge project is likely to encounter similar obstacles as the Thacker Pass project, and I anticipate its construction to commence in 2024, albeit with a delayed start.
