There are always many very ordinary everyday reasons related to life circumstances as to why a holding has to be sold completely or reduced at some point in time, even for stocks with enormous short to medium term potential like LTR. Unless one has sufficient spare cash, just a few life events off the top of my head include finalising a deceased's estate, divorce settlement, property settlement, a court order/costs, taxation payment, large purchases, overdue bills or Centrelink debts, or major medical issues. It's because of these events that shorters are able to benefit by picking up cheap shares from those in dire circumstances with no other option but to sell. It's a pity, but unfortunately an inescapable fact which I've had to endure myself from time to time. .
