I am into platform businesses eg AAPL, AMZN, META ie they act as a middle man between somebody who has something they want to sell and somebody who wants to buy what is to be sold. So just have a look all the businesses that Elders is involved in ....
aren't they all platform businesses? eg rural products eg fertiliser, insecticides etc - Nufarm etc - Elders - farmers agency services eg auctions- sheep and cattle producers - Elders - abatoirs, other farmers Real estate - farm sellers - Elders - farm buyers What is the difference between Elders and say Amazon or REA? Isn't Elders just a smaller version of Amazon or REA except for farmers? It would seem that they clip the ticket on practically every transaction that goes on between two entities in the farming world Return on capital = 16% so the business is making a profit and the profits are being paid out to shareholders as divis and being reinvested back into the business. Just look at the growth in book value. Book value growth = >20% Would love to get your views, particularly if you are short on the stock. thanks
