Today's posts raise some interesting questions . . .
1) is there hydrothermal activity in/near the salar ?
Well maybe, but the map above shows that on an autumn day the salar surface temperatures are less than on a sunlit slope near the salar (see map above). In recent satellite photos mist/dust can be seen near peaks, but no condensing vapor can be seen.
2) alluvial fans near an off-take might be a problem in the event of high rainfall or seismic event. There is evidence in the tenements that a collapse has occurred recently at (-25.51058393,-68.13354343) where there appears to be backwash debris.
3) Inflows to most salars seems to be artesian (ie. just below surface) and appear near salar margins as seeps. There appear to be two seeps within the tenement, 2km inside the northern boundary (-25.31454305,-68.06140684). They might, at depth, provide access to the deep brines of the north western salar.
4) The sale agreement refers to a JORC Mineral Resource definition. Are inflows of any type permitted and under what category of certainty ? I understand that generally the JORC Resources of salars refers to in-situ brines/sediments. Whereas inflows may vary with seismic events and rainfall.
5) The exact location of the tenement boundaries has not been published. IMO this is unreasonable and not acceptable (see @ChowFunpost ).
