Would you be able to supply us with some figures as to the ballpark power losses from the proposed Sun Cable project. Not the solar farm, just the transmission line. Gut feeling is that transmitting large amounts of power over that distance (some underwater) would have to be problematic.
Capital costs and maintenance (along a plate boundary) are obviously hurdles but if the operational losses are anywhere near as high as Green Hydrogen then surely there has to be better ways of investing in renewable energy.
If the assumptions and calculations are a bit time consuming then I would be grateful for a reference so I can work it out for myself.
