instead for KAU, if anything it weighed on the SP. a surprise given there's been any number of similar high grade intercepts turn up in the ongoing brownfields exploration at A1.

you couldn't look at the AUD spot gold price to explain this: it's currently quoted around A$2,991/oz, not far off its record high. this price gives KAU a handsome and profitable margin on its production.

the market for junior miners and explorers is less than exciting. perhaps punters are waiting for the long predicted market crash said to be imminent in 2023. well, we're nearly half way through the year and major indices haven't tanked yet.

i guess we'll just have to accept KAU is unloved and undervalued for the moment, but is inline for a sharp rerating when the market turns, as it will.

the company could assist in this matter by putting in a couple of solid quarters of production, boosting already healthy cash at bank, and underpinning an eye-opening head-turning maiden dividend. early in 2024. they will have to do something with all the cash and there is no point waiting like a sitting duck for M&A activity.

this wouldn't necessarily be premature but would surely set the cat amongst the pigeons.
