And what happens to Genesis if SLR is successful - all dressed up and nowhere to go - but with A$400m cash burning a hole in its pocket.
The reality is SLR has no synergies because it's not in the Leonora district .... but just down the road is a big new mill with the lowest processing costs and great expansion potential .... KOTH, the missing piece in the Leonora consolidation jigsaw puzzle.
Not only is KOTH the logical place to process Gwalia deeps ore, but Genesis projects looking for a milling solution.
So, SLR takes over SBM, then accepts a humiliating offer from GMD, then makes a bid for RED to create the ultimate Leonora consolidation ??
SLR will then will become mini-me NST with multi-mines, multi-plant , multi-regional structure making it the next tier 1 producer and hence "investment grade" ??
