I don't think this can be used for demining. I'm no expert, but I think it's quite different. Demining is done with a real-time scanning device like a metal detector, as the mines are underground and there location is unknown and the at-risk zone is large.

This product images an unknown object in a known location. I don't know if it is able to produce real-time images (backscatter imaging probably takes a lot of post-processing once the scatter has hit the detector). I don't know if it can image objects below the ground either.
