that stock is unavailable for western manufacturers and western military factories.

Tesla/Musks largest EV production factories are in China, he is dependent on chinese nickel for his EVs as BHP & western nickel is in serious trouble right now and he foresaw this last few years already.

"The US and Australia announced on Saturday at the G7 meeting in Japan that they would partner to manage vulnerable critical mineral supply chains, with President Joe Biden saying he would ask Congress to define Australia as a domestic source for materials critical to defence and clean energy"

western market is not ready for these massive Ni shortages
the yanks have placed Ni on the critical materials lists, too little too late.
and the latest ruskie Ni sanctions will make this even worse
the FEDS and Oz industry has failed to invest in these industries to that needed.
BHP cant even fill its kambalda mill, its mt Keith mills nor its kalgoorlie smelter!
and the much hyped kwinana refinery expansion sits underused and also not filled either!
