Telling the truth isnt everything. It can be relevant if we tell the truth when we are obviously wrong with the inference that we will do the right thing in future.
For example when Hitler told the truth that he hated Jews it did not excuse the fact that he hated Jews!
People who want to be discriminatory with whom they deal should not put themselves in a position, given the nature of the job, where they are expected to be non-discrimitory. They should do themselves and society a favour and leave the job to others who'll serve without prejudice.
Imagine if you are in, say, a Muslim country and in an accidentent and the ambulance paramedic fails to attend to you because you are an infidel. This is why discrimination in some job roles isn't right because when one is the reciever rather than the giver the wrong isthen blatently obvious.
These unfortunate people have just brought the 21st century to Leonora only to find that at least 2 of its citizens who happened to be working for St Johns Ambulance there were in the 19th.
One doesnt have to be ashamed of being an Australian because of this incident but one can be justifably ashamed of those on Hot Copper who use stupid arguements to condone this unfortunate incident.
