Yes the role of media keeping government accountable is important.and the primary role of their existence. But let's be honest media is now about either political gain or pure greed. The days of an ABC Radio just reading the news without bias is gone. And the commericjal.media is click with advertising driven. Very few stories of honest and unbiased reporting get through..BRS has been targeted in an age when this is in overdrive. Ruxton and the RSL would have never allowed it in the 60-s -90's for any WW1 and WW2 veterans...From the Vietnam period on media has angled their reporting on war and possibly at detriment to the ADF. But the truth can be hard to get.

Or perhaps that the conduct of the ADF has got worse in the last 30 years as the 'enemy' changed from sovereign nations to 'insurgents' & 'terrorists'?
