Just watched a replay of Yatesy giving evidence yesterday at the inquiry and she did pretty good. She was calm, measured and across her role and the statutes around her role...she is a lawyer, after all.
The only concession made was being unaware of Higgsy's speech following the mistrial and, in hindsight would not have stood next to her at that point.
Further, when Justice McCallum issued a firm warning about media statements - something about contempt - both Yatesy and Higgsy were in the dunny, with Higgsy having a mild panic attack. After which, Higgsy marched out of court and slammed Brucey and the justice system. Go figure.
What was gleaned from Yatesy's evidence was that Higgsy was mainly motivated to adopt an advocacy/activist role for sexual assault reform, with her own allegations seemingly a lesser consideration. Sounded to me like she was v reluctant to action her case at all and thus didn't bargain on it getting as far as it did.
Enquiry now adjoined though Drummo is to be recalled prior to an interim report being handed down on June 28.
In the meantime we have Brucey appearing on tele Sunday night...it's his first real chance to impress. Don't blow it, dude, tell us what we want to hear:
