There's always some 'luck' given retailers can be (partly) beholden to economic cycles: if unemployment, interest rates or inflation, or all, rise dramatically and even well-heeled consumers irrationally decide to shut wallets and purses and ignore smartphones' retail apps, CEOs and Boards may fail to increase margins or sales.
That said, a fair assessment would be that Mr King has done a pretty good job. I appreciate the SP is nowehere near at what the company floated at (A$4.10 if I recall) but it's improved from c.A$0.30, despite the present run of poor economic news and Labor governments in charge who lack clues on how to curtail massive fiscal deficits, with Victoria where MYR is headquartered the worst.
