A point to make it easier for me to interpret, Au is the chemical symbol for Gold. I & Many gold bugs in particular on HC use it an short form.
I think Aust is the short form for Australia.
In the same vein (pun intended), I was perplexed when a relative (a doctor) kept referring to ca in texts, as an understandably soft abbreviation for cancer. I was thrown, by thinking of Calcium which has an important role in blood chemistry and atherosclerosis.
Apologies if it's just my problem.
