Good question about exercise costs - I've got no idea. I think I read somewhere about filling out some paper work but I could be wrong.
One thing I think you might have wrong though is the expiry date. You have to exercise the option before the expiry date. Once the expiry date has passed they're worthless and I guess they're null & void.
