Yes Salior, I think most of them are deserved.
My father served in WWII. He died early at 72, his death was put down partly due to his service history.
Smoking due to army issuing cigarettes, contracting Malaria, having a huge tropical tape worm, being wounded, losing an eye,etc.
Even though Dad couldnt get an Aged Pension as he had worked too hard, Mum was granted a War Widow Pension.
Its also very generous, I know mum would have rather had dad arround for longer though.
