speculation, but as others have pointed out a ton of shorts were covered a little before the CR and we've all noticed some fairly hefty cross trades recently. I'm personally not focused enough to concisely join the dots at the minute but id gamble it's all related somehow.
I'm definitely a gambling man and would back my assumptions at even money. 40 something years young and just landed on the island of Ibiza, oh my I wish I was still young and beautiful haha.
