I'm a maths/stats person, not a trader, so forgive me for not following your presentation.
(I got a bit lost after "Let's do the maths $1 wbc share price")
... but surely you cannot be $40,000 better off, when in the bank interest example, you end up with no shares.
As for "this year is harder to buy back wbc because interest rates are higher", does that mean you are borrowing to buy the shares?
