"He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past."
George Orwell
My friends,
The share price of Optiscan is at 8+ cents. To be honest with my friends Tiresias had not expected price to re-trace to this level. Why is this thus?
Tiresias has no doubt that it is the past. It is the history of Optiscan Imaging, weighing on the present. A litany of bad managements from the time of its first floating through to the final involvement of the Clermont, that weighs on Optiscan’s present share price and undoubtedly disconcerts the true believers and the long-suffering shareholders. Though Tiresias regards George Orwell as no less a seer than himself, Tiresias in this case has to say that his sage quote is only partly right. “He who controls the present controls the past.” unfortunately, in this situation, does not control the past. Optiscan’s present management, the first competent management in its history, does not have the power to erase the past and cannot wipe away the disappointments of past from the memories of us the true believers. But the past notwithstanding, Tiresias sees clearly the present management is in control of the present and are setting. “We few. We happy few. We band of brothers.”, who have been in this through the dark past are now in sight of the long promised bright future.
Tiresias sees, that without the weight of its history, if Optiscan listed today, with its present technology; its current involvement and likely exponential revenue growth from Carl Zeiss and the consequent expenditure on the new expanded manufacturing facilities and personnel; its imminent FDA approvals; the recent publication of the results of oral cancer surveillance and diagnosis in a leading oral medicine journal; the imminent release of almost certainly transformational and revolutionary study in breast cancer surgery; the return to gastrointestinal endomicroscopy GI return, Optiscan would be $2.00, and then some. Unfortunately, it is not a fresh new listing. It is 20 years, 20 hard years, 20 wearying years, which weigh on us and weigh on the share price.
The pricing of the Entitlement offer, at 8.0 cents, albeit underwritten by with full support of the very deep pockets of its cornerstone backers, the offer to existing shareholders, for reasons of fairness and proper governance ensures that this level is re-visited. It is obvious to all of us that many of the long-standing true believers are tired and tapped out, and will probably only partly, if at all, take up their entitlement. But for fairness and proper openness, that the minority shareholders cannot cry foul, when share price starts rising again, and when it starts to hit $1.00, $2.00, and then some. At the present, true believers are not buying on market. and even those who will take up some entitlements will not be buying on the market so there is no price support. Until the entitlements are well and truly put to bed, and when the market realises that this company will have $19 plus million dollars in the bank, and with the imminent news flow, and the realization that major third-party players with very deep pockets, who see both the future prospects and the threat of being “Kodaked”, will have to take a stake. They know that this this is going to lead to a revolution in cancer pathology, cancer surgery, and cancer management, and prices of dollars per share is mere chicken feed. Then will “…...the winter of our discontent be made into glorious summer. And all the clouds that lour’d upon our house, In the deep bosom of the ocean buried.”
