Slampoil, Yes, Shanghai is up, but only moderately 0.3%, 7 points, and Hang Sen 0.08% 15 poins.
Lucky: as you say, miners aren't as hard down, especially BHP. Financials are down slightly more.
XFJ Financials -0.9%, XMM Metals/minders - 0.7%, so not much difference.
I don't think BHP on its own is going to hold up the XJO higher, despite its weighing.
