I've thought the same for quite some time and a good reason for the silence.

What silence it's totally normal for companies to have long breaks between material updates and they're not going to give a running commentary of day to day progress in between.
When they have something to update on they will, there is no mystery here it's all about getting a deal that can work for both parties and that takes the time it takes whoever the party is or parties involved are.

In the course of the evening someone has thrown another theory into the ring so that should keep the thread entertained for the day...
