It’s a fair argument imho. All sides of Aust politics still seem determined to proceed down the path of greater inefficiency and higher power costs by closing all cheaper and reliable 24/7 power generation in favour of very costly new trunk power lines to connect all the widely dispersed wind and solar generators. This inevitably means lower productivity - and likely a serious Recession, probably widespread imo.
On the other hand IF we and the ROW continue down this path, demand and prices of rare earths will surely rise!
