An update on my progress fighting my Stage 4 cancer.
I had a CT scan beginning of last week that allows comparison of size of measured lesions with size measured lesions at my prior CT scan mid March. The 7 measured lesions are in either lymph nodes or lungs.
All 7 measured lesions have significantly reduced in volume by an average 80% (range 65% to 91%). This result is impressive and I am certainly encouraged by it. This result is for the chemo that was selected based on the tumour drug sensitivity screening I had done in the US.
The scan report gives me a length in mm of both major and minor axis of the measured lesions. Assuming the tumour shapes are prolate spheroid I then do calculations to estimate and approximate volume of each tumour in Cubic Centimetres.
I am by no means out of the woods. I have other tumours causing me problems (progression and significant pain). I need both surgery and to find another chemo to use alongside the chemo I am now on.
I am experiencing significant fatigue. This is caused by poor sleep (due to pain) and probably low blood counts.
