Brainchip's ever growing ownership of patents is laying the foundation for long-term expansion.

"BrainChip’s portfolio now comprises 16 issued patents (11x US, 3x AU, 1xEP, 1xCN). Inaddition, some 30 patent applications are pending in the US, Europe, Australia, Canada,Japan, Korea, India, Brazil, Russia, Mexico, and Israel."

Two reasons for a strong, well-rounded patent portfolio are:

To prevent or delay the introduction of competing products;
To build company brand and reputation as a “thought leader".

"Brainchip's latest patent is considered by the Company to be a valuable IP asset that will block competitors from adopting BrainChip-style learning on a neuromorphic chip or a system.".
