Looking at Lake Resources of late and their recent announcement that their project will be delayed for 6 years! That's not a position I'd like to be in.
I think LD's and JRL's approach in general is the correct path for a tiny company.
As evidenced here, it takes a long time just to find and prove up a resource let alone bring a mine in to production.
As someone close to LD's vintage, I cannot wait that long and need the pay off.
