I worked in facilities where Indigenous people were over represented .
I enjoyed a lot of their company . I must say they were very accepting of harsh environments and 99% had a sense of justice and would always share food , clothes etc .
Prior to their release some would say "I hope i get out before Thursday next week ! " . I`d ask "why?" "Because that`s payday".
I would try and explain that "payday" wasn`t welfare payments . They would look at me funny when I would tell them "payday" was money received after work had been done .
