I just want to explore this thought 3 peat...........Curious to know what do you think they will get out of attending ? My view is possibly Jimenez should be there but why would JP and all the rest of his key mgt team be there ?
Right now getting this DFS out and the market informed on a pathway to production is far more important than being distracted with yet another piece of marketing BS where everyone stands around and congratulates themselves for being in a nascent growing industry. Honestly its become an industry for some of these smaller start up explorers / developers over the last few years to just go from one of these roadshow events to another. Pretty well bugger all comes out of any of them and that time spent there could/should have been spent on actually getting some of these projects going on the ground. The whole industry has become obsessed with listening to itself on its new found importance but very few people with actually kicking any goals. That isn't a shot at Galan or JP but at the broader lithium developmer / explorer industry.
I am also nearly of the view whats in it even for Jimenez either ? Honestly he could pick the phone up to the 6-7 different players who will be initially buying our chloride brine without ever going to such a conference as he knows them all anyway. Initially we will be selling to other producers who will be doing the conversion to carbonate at their plants in Argentina, so getting offtakes with say Auto Oems who might attend and others is way down the road here.
Most industries in the world will have 1 or 2 premier events each year where people get together chew the fat, explore ideas etc, et ideas for innovation etc. The lithium wannabee industry has almost turned this into one every other month in some continent or exotic location somewhere. And its the same talking points regurgitated at all of them. We all know this industry has plenty of potential, plenty of growth to come but with challenges from emerging other sources like like lepodolite and now sodium ion batteries but problem is the industry is more interested in listening to and giving kudos to folks like the fastmarkets who ultimately are just talking heads. People can talk till the Cows come home but if they want to change the world as they all keep saying they will you have to deliver and execute projects.....a skillset I would dare to suggest very few people in that room at the fastmarkets conference probably have little clue on how to do..........
