people have known about ecosystems and food chains for long enough now. what it points to is that everything is connected to everything else, in one way or another.
technology is outpacing morality by a long shot but this is the way things go such unfortunate discoveries are but a reflection of things at a personal level - we tend not to do anything about bad habits untill the consequenses of them drive us into the bottom of the pit of anguish.
