Agree with you Buddy,
Every time I have seen or been involved in a Capital Raising I too seem to recall the price slipping to at least the issue price but most times it goes even lower.
However, this is a "Placement to Sophiticated Investors" at a time when more good news is imminent.
My recent experience with these types of situations is that it is quite possible for the price to improve. In AAR's case I would say it's a 50/50 chance either way.
It really comes down to who the sophisticated investors are, what the placement price is, if there are free options and what news comes out shortly after the placement etc.
Whatever happens though, I'll bet good odds that the majority of those who complain about being left out of a "capital raising" will NOT buy on market if the price slips. :-)
