Think of URA as basically a stock, you can buy and sell it just the same, including shorting it.

URA underlying shares(like ASN) are held by those in the top 20 you as “nominees” - they never actually own the shares themselves, the banks do, and the banks can lend them for shorting. It’s not the ETF doing it itself.

seemed to me like the URA X ETF did the buying and now the lending..? I'm still learning..
