There isn't a single reputable economist in the USA that says money will be backed with gold. That BS is pushed by dodgy gold salesmen who are happy to tell you exactly what you want to hear.

Most countries don't own one ounce of gold and they're no worse off for it. Gold salesmen are always pushing this BS, I've been hearing about it for decades.
