European markets very flat overnight - slightly down with the French CAC the only exchange in positive territory.
In the US, the DOW closed 12 points lower (basically flat) but the NASDAQ Biotech index was down 52 points and the NASDAQ Composite fell 156 points.
Worries about Russian oil supplies reliability are adding some uncertainty - though I suspect Russia needs the revenue. Anyway, oil prices have risen.
The US dollar has declined in value - apparently, a sign of better economic activity ahead - the USD is seen as a hedge in bad times and would go up when there are market fears.
