My guess for WHC outperformance relative to NHC, is: WHC is being more aggressive with buy back (i.e. trying to support the price) whereas NHC is being more subtle and trying to buyback the shares cheap. If I am correct, then:
WHC's strategy is better for those trying to exit, managers with performance options, and the impaitient.
NHC strategy is better for medium to long term holders, the paitent, and those who prefer dividends.
