Hi Wack,
Thanks for posting.
I want to add some detail to the lithology tables that seem to be missed by some less informed posters.
The story here is not the 0.6% Niobium grades in the deep dyke!
The story is that this is a Niobium mineralised carbonatite that shows enrichment in the oxides layer. The oxidised layers of other such finds, Araxa, Mt. Weld etc. show that you can get grades around 10x that of the original mineralised carbonatite. So, the 0.6 % is actually saying it could mean 6% Nb would be reasonable in the oxidised layer!!!
WA1's announcement today shows that their impressive Nb grades in the oxidised layer are in saprolite and ferrous clays.
Under the "Geological discussion"
"High grade mineralisation within drillhole LURC23-021 occurs deeper, from approximately 90m to end of hole (EOH). The weathering profile is deeper in this area as was also observed in hole LURC23-015. Mineralisation in LURC23-021 is associated with the upper saprolite to lower saprolite
contact. Gravity and passive seismic surveys completed in December 2022 (refer to ASX announcements dated 1 March 2023 and 7 March 2023) highlighted possible east-west trending structures in this area, which may offer explanation for the slightly deeper mineralisation.
LURC23-045 is located 450m northwest of LURC23-033 (refer to ASX announcement dated 1 May 2023). The mineralisation is associated with iron rich clays which transition into moderately weathered apparent ferro carbonatite toward EOH.
So, my guess is that there will be some very comparable grades to WA1 in EAL007's White clay saprolite and maybe the conglomerate and
in EAL007's ferruginous weathers carbonate and limonite clays.
Point is the announcement shows that all the stars seem to be lining up for ENR.
The announcement couldn't have been better, unless of course they didn't hide the Nb grades from us. Time will tell.
