Following recent comments by Qantas CEO Alan Joyce that they are considering using regional jets (including AQZ’s wet leased E190’s) on Tran’s Tasman routes, New Zealand media is speculating on what routes may be attractive. With Qantas directed as business travel rather than leisure, maybe Wellington to Canberra is attractive. Otherwise, east coast capital cities to currently unserved New Zealand provincial centres such as Hamilton, Napier or Dunedin are worth a shot.
